From Egyptian dance to disabled cycling, Islington Now rounds up some of the most exciting and inclusive sports events going on in the borough the coming week.
Move your body to the world
Egyptian dance: A safe space for women of all ages and cultural backgrounds to explore Egyptian dance. Beginners are welcome.
When: 25 March (Tuesday), 14:15 – 15:15

Fee: Free, no booking required
Zumba: Zumba is a fitness programme mixing cardio and Latino dance. Join Joanne Entwistle, a fashion scholar at King’s College London who also instructs Zumba, for a sweaty upbeat session. No experience required, just wear comfortable clothes and trainers and bring some water.
When: 22 March (Saturday), 10am-11am

Special yoga
Yoga is not just a mind-body practice but a collection of disciplines that can be dated back to Indus civilisation in 2,700 BC. In the North London Buddhist Centre, you can learn different forms of yoga including vinyasa, a flowing style of yoga synchronising with your breath.

Be active with disability
Cricket: Here nobody is left behind! Elfrida Society, the award-winning sports initiative, delivers free cricket session for people with learning disability every Friday. Just let them know if you are coming, and find out more sessions they run here.
When: 21 March (Friday), 1pm-2:30pm
Where: Caxton Community House, 129 St John’s Way, N19 3RQ
Fee: Free
Cycling: Tricycles, fixed wheels and wheelchair cycles – Pedal Power runs cycling sessions for people with different kinds of disability. If you are interested, sign up to be a member and book a session. You can also let them know the number of support staff and any other supports you need.
When: Different times on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Where: Varied locations including Finsbury Park and Emirates Stadium
Fee: £3.00 (members), £4.00 (guest riders), free to supporters
