A 188 square feet Barnsbury flat that is one fifth the size of an average home has sold for more than £275,000 after three weeks on the market.
The converted flower shop is located on Richmond Avenue, in Barnsbury, a short walk from Tony Blair’s former residence on Richmond Crescent.
The tiny property has the front door underneath the bed and features an open plan kitchen the resident must climb over in order to reach the bedroom.
It went on sale for £275,000 last month and has now been sold, after being viewed more than 220,000 times on Rightmove and Zoopla.
Estate agent Hamish Allan did not disclose the buyer or exact figure, but said that his agency Winkworth had received plenty of interest from a broad range of potential buyers.
“There were first-time buyers, enquiries from people who wanted an extra or spare room and someone else who looked at buying it and putting it on AirBNB.
“It was only on for three weeks and we had a number of offers. The home is unique, there is no other way to describe it.
“It is a really cleverly designed home. The typical properties we sell range between 1,400 sq ft and 2,200 sq ft and we have sold another one-bed, which was 600 sq ft.
“But we’ve never sold anything this small. It has been a pleasure.”
