Warnings of a supposedly dangerous sweet called Astrosnacks have caused widespread concern across London, despite authorities failing to verify the claims. The messages were sent out by schools and councils, and later shared widely on social media. Islington Now has seen a copy of the warning that was first circulated to parents of pupils at a school in Archway in late February.
MOULD-infested properties in Islington have been the driving force behind a new report by the London Assembly Environment Committee, which will put pressure on the Mayor of London to improve the quality of London properties. Cllr Caroline Russell, who is chair of the committee, said that her personal experiences with residents in the borough had heavily influenced the report, titled ‘Keeping out the chill’.
Recently it has become difficult to go anywhere without seeing or smelling billowing plumes of white smoke. Fortunately, these are not the noxious clouds that one might encounter outside pubs and clubs on Saturday nights, in fact, the smell is quite delicious. So, what’s going on?
