A woman who fell to her death has been named by police.

Alison French, 39, fell from a third floor balcony of Bushfield House, Highbury, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Ambulance staff treated the patient, who was in cardiac arrest, but were unable to resuscitate her.

Police arrived shortly after midnight and arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the incident. The man has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

A post mortem examination gave the cause of death as severe head injuries consistent with a fall.

The police are treating the death as unexplained.
