Two women are recovering in hospital after a rush hour collision between a motorbike and a car.
The incident took place just before eight on 10 October at the junction between Eden Grove and Holloway Road, next to London Metropolitan University.
According to witnesses, the impact of the crash could be heard from far inside the university building.
An onlooker who witnessed the aftermath said “All of the car was in a bad way, the lights were smashed and the front bumper had come off.”
She described the woman on the motorbike as lying motionless on the ground, her bike cut in half some distance away.
The driver of the car had to be cut out of her vehicle and taken to hospital by the emergency services.
Harry Patross, manager of the London Coffee Club cafe on Holloway Road, said incidents were common on the road: “This road is very accident prone, there are too many blind spots for bikes and motorbikes especially.
“If you sit outside my cafe long enough every single day you’ll see a near miss.”
