American rock band The Killers will light up the Emirates Stadium as part of a tour to coincide with their sixth studio album.

The Nevada band will play the Arsenal home ground, their only London tour date, on 6 June 2020 with tickets starting at £55.00.

The Emirates stadium, which has a capacity of 72,000 concertgoers, has previously hosted a select group of artists including Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay and Muse.

They will be supported by award-winning artist Sam Fender, who Arsenal fans may be familiar with after one of his singles, ‘Play God’, was featured on this year’s edition of the FIFA  football game franchise.

Arsenal’s commercial director, Peter Silverstone, said on Arsenal.com that the club is “delighted to be hosting one of the biggest bands of the 21st century at Emirates Stadium,” and are looking forward to “a superb night of live entertainment.”

Fans are also excited, with one telling Islington Now that he had “fond memories of going to the Capital Summertime Ball at the Emirates Stadium” in 2009, and hopes “the Killers bring something special” to their concert.

Tickets for the event go on sale from 9am this Friday, 22 November.
