Easter is a time of reflection, thought and, most importantly, a time to eat as much chocolate as humanely possible.
So, in the name of serious journalism, Islington Now sent out foodie reporter, Harry Misiko to find the best sweet treats Islington has to offer.

Gail’s Artisan Bakery
Gail’s, on Exmouth Market, has lots of special treats on offer this Easter.
Bunny Cupcakes: Light vanilla sponges with white chocolate buttercream icing, topped with a pair of pink-iced bunny ears, spiced with ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon for £2.90.
Easter Bunny Biscuits: Raspberry jam, sandwiched between two bunny-shaped biscuits, with a fluffy bunny tail made with white icing for £1.20.

Hot Cross Buns: Glazed with a spiced syrup for an extra sticky top, the buns are freshly made throughout the day. They are £1.50 or £8 for six.
Easter French Toast: Made from grilled GAIL’s Hot Cross Buns and topped with bananas, pecans, homemade butterscotch sauce and cream.
The smell of fresh cakes wafts out the door of 47 Wilton Way. Their Easter bakes include hot cross buns, with homemade candied citrus peel and traditional Easter-time spices.
From 26th March, Violet’s will be introducing some new seasonal cupcakes to coincide with the end of Lent. The flourless chocolate cakes are “perfect for your Easter lunch dessert” according to Violet’s founder, Claire Ptak.

Fleet River Bakery
Traditional hot cross buns are the order of the day at this bakery on 71 Lincoln’s Inn Fields. For something a bit different, try their creme egg brownies!
