The owner of a dog stolen on Caledonian Road last week has pleaded with thieves to return his beloved pet.
Jessie, a male tan-coloured Staffordshire bull terrier, was last seen being pushed into the back of a car outside the Texaco petrol station on Caledonian Road on 10 November at around ten o’clock.
24-year-old delivery driver, Stephen Grieve appealed to the thieves to return Jessie: “Bring our baby home. We just need him home.”
CCTV shows Jessie, who Mr Grieve described as “friendly” and “the best dog ever”, being shoved into the back of a green Vauxhall Cavalier by two men. One man is believed to be between 25 and 30 years old with short ginger hair, while the other is between 45 and 50 with fine grey hair and was wearing a tracksuit on the night.
Mr Grieve said he and his family had searched for Jessie through the early hours of the next morning but had been unsuccessful.
The car on the CCTV is registered to an address in Newham in south London, but a police visit to the address failed to find Jessie.
The police are asking for anyone with information to call 101, while the family is offering a reward for anyone with information that can help return Jessie.
