Arsenal defender Johan Djourou has been ruled out for the rest of the season after dislocating his shoulder in the Gunner’s FA Cup defeat by Manchester United.
The Gunners centre-back was carried off after falling awkwardly in the closing stages of Saturday’s clash at Old Trafford, which Arsene Wenger’s men lost 2-0.
The Swiss defender joins Wenger’s ever-growing injury list which includes Cesc Fabregas, Thomas Vermaelen, Theo Walcott, Alex Song, Lukasz Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny.
And the Arsenal manager has revealed that midfielder Song, who picked up a knock in the Carling Cup final, will not feature in the Gunners’ Premier League clash at West Brom this weekend.
Wenger said: “I don’t know [when Song will be fit again]. But certainly not for Saturday.
“We would like Song back and we would like Fabregas back. We have now to cope with Djourou [being] out and he is an outstanding player.”
