An Islington man has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences.
St Peter’s Safer Neighbourhoods Team searched an address on Rotherfield Street on 21 October and found a stash of cannabis and Class A drugs.
Police searched the house under a Misuse of Drugs warrant before arresting a male suspect.
Sgt Cam Thompson said: “a man in his fifties was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs. Officers seized a quantity of suspected herbal cannabis and Class A drugs. An investigation by officers is ongoing.”
The raid was a follow-up to Operation Red Kite, a 24-hour operation across Islington and Hackney boroughs which took place on 18 September.
The operation was a joint effort from Islington and Hackney Police and Hackney Homes, officers from the Territorial Support Group, British Transport Police and the United Kingdom Border Force.
Over a dozen raids have been carried out as part of the operation, hitting the properties of several suspected drug dealers. A total of 11 arrests were made for various offences including drug offences.
