The killer of Islington teenager, Ben Kinsella, has been found with cannabis in his cell.
Jade Braithwaite, 20, is currently serving a life sentence with a minimum tariff of 19 years for his part in the murder of Ben Kinsella in June 2008.
As a result of being caught with the Class B drug, Braithwaite has been moved to a segregated unit and had privileges such as phone calls and visits withdrawn.
Sources at Swinfen Hall Prison in Staffordshire told the Daily Mirror that Braithwaite relied on the drug to help the day pass quicker.
“He loves to brag about how time flies when he smokes weed,” said the source. “He obviously hadn’t hidden his stash properly before warders searched his cell. He won’t be so cocky now.”
Ben, the 16 year-old brother of ex-Eastenders star Brooke Kinsella, was stabbed to death by Braithwaite and two accomplices whilst he was out celebrating the end of his GCSE exams.
After his murder more than 400 teenagers joined a demonstration march from Islington Town Hall to the site of the stabbing (at the junction of North Road and York Way) in order to highlight their concerns over the growing occurrence of knife crime in the capital.
