Many tickets prices at Arsenal are to rise by over 6 per cent next season, despite already being some of the country’s most expensive tickets.
While there has been frustration among some of the fans at the club’s decision not to engage in big money buys, the club has announced that seven thousand club-level supporters will see their prices rise by 6.5 per cent.
Arsenal season tickets are already the most expensive in the country, with tickets costing between £893 and £1,825. If the price hike was applied across the board that could mean the most expensive tickets would cost over £1,900.
Adam Jones, a regular visitor to the Emirates, said he was frustrated by ticket hike. “I wouldn’t mind paying more but it does annoy me that the money isn’t spent on new players. We are told there is money to spend but we never do it. It has been years sinces we won anything,” he said.
The first increase for 3 or 4 years. We’ve got a superb stadium and ateam playing easy-on-the-eye football. A pound will only buy so much and you can’t have a new ground AND expensive players – players who may not give you what you want or justify the money spent on them (we can all think of players like that!) Of course we could pay less for our tickets, but then you’d be watching teams of the quality of Stoke,Blackburn,etc.. Be careful what you wish for. Bear in mind,too,that all the pre-season punditry said we’d be lucky to finish in the top ten as so many other Clubs had stronger squads so give AW and the boys credit for what they’ve achieved this season, and look forward to more improvement next season.
