A shadow minister used a speech in Angel to launch an attack on the Conservatives on Saturday, suggesting that they were seeking to stop poorer people having children. Karen Buck, shadow work and pensions minister, accused the Tories of being “deeply hostile” to the poor.
She added that they were trying to push women, ethnic minorities and poorer people out of the centre of London.
“When you listen to the Tories speaking there is an arrogance and an ignorance that I have never known in my 13 years in Parliament,” she said.
“They basically think that anyone whose income is below the top rate of tax shouldn’t have children.”
Ms Buck said that the £400 cap on housing benefit, which comes into force next month, was a politically motivated decision to force ethnic minorities out of London. “They do not want lower income women, families and children living in London,” she said.
“Above all, let us be very clear, they don’t want black women, they don’t want ethnic minority women. They just don’t.
“They want people to be moving out of anywhere that is a more prosperous area into the fringes of London and into places like Barking and Newham.”
“I have nothing against Barking and Newham,” she added. “The problem is they are already full of people who are quite poor.”
Ms Buck was speaking at a public meeting at the Andover Community Centre in Finsbury Park, organised by Islington North Labour Party.
The £400 cap would apply to the largest homes. A £290 a week cap would be placed on two-bedroom flats. There will also be a ten per cent cut in housing benefit for those unemployed for longer than a year.
In October last year Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London said he would resist all plans to enforce “Kosovo-style ethnic cleansing” in London and vowed to resist the government’s proposals.
“The last thing we want to have is a situation such as Paris where the less well-off are pushed out to the suburbs. That is not going to happen,” he said.
The Tories have, since at least the 19th century, been deeply hostile to poor families. Let us not forget that only a few months ago a Tory Peer opened his big mouth and said that the lower classes should not be encouraged to breed, all he received from the hierarchy was a mild reprimand (probably for saying it publicly). Without doubt the Tories are not just nasty, they are obnxious, loathsome and deeply offensive.
Under Labour any dog and bitch were let in.
It is time that this stopped.
This MP, Ms Karen Buck, is absolutely right! She obviously knows what she is talking about, especially about this kind of “social cleansing”, architected by tories in B. of Westminster and in RB of Kensington & Chelsea. Tories are really already using all available to them tools and powers to get rid of poorer families, British and from ethnic minorities, with children, in order to push them away from central London somewhere else. Well done, Ms Buck! Please, keep going, do everything in your power to stop these narrow minded tories! And don’t let them to stop you – tell people about your worries and people will support you in your struggle for really fair society, with justice for all families, not just for rich!

Quite possible, – nothing can be excluded after NEO-ConDemNation-ISM… But good job there are few obstacles on their way to that terrifying future – ordinary people and such MPs like Ms Karen Buck. NO-PASSARAN! They should not get through such powerful barriers. Let’s stop them, otherwise they will stop life!
