The Hercules pub is hosting an entire weekend packed full of Irish-themed fun. On 17 March, there will be live music and dancing all day, from 12pm to 11pm. On 18 March, Ireland could bring home the grand slam in the Six Nations with a triumph over England, and you can watch it live at the Hercules, with kick off at 5pm. Recover on 19 March with a heartwarming Sunday roast, watch the footie with Arsenal v Crystal Palace, followed by more live music in the evening.

Member’s only cocktail club opens its doors to the public for St Patrick’s Day

Cocktail club Keystone Crescent is swinging open its exclusive doors with discounted cocktails for St Patrick’s Day and “gold coins and shamrocks aplenty”. The club are also doing some deals: “gingers drink free happy hour from 6pm-7pm and a special surprise if you order your drink in an Irish accent”. The event is open to both members and non-members.

3. Enjoy an Irish-inspired three-course meal at an experienced hosts’ home
Wenlock Road London N1 7SZ
This three-course meal is cooked and hosted by Claudia, a city professional with a “passion for food, cooking and entertaining” in her home. Claudia set up the White Room Supper Club with the hopes of bringing people together in a “relaxed homely environment”. On the Irish-themed set menu for the evening is homemade Irish soda bread and Guinness brownies, to name just a couple. If you’re meatless then Claudia also has some vegetarian options available.
When: 17 March, from 7:30pm to 11pm.
Cost: The night is £40 per head, and you should bring-your-own drinks.

4. A night of live Irish music by the Guitar Social
St Elmo’s – 26 Caledonian Road, Islington, N1 9DT
It is what it says on the tin! What is more quintessentially Irish than an evening of live music and a cold beer? The Guitar Social band is performing at their very own venue and all they are asking from you is to come along and stamp your feet to their music as loud as you possibly can.

Music, beers, rugby and more at the Hanbury

A lovely spot in Islington to celebrate the famous Saint Patrick, check out the Hanbury’s beer garden – a popular spot with the locals! Live music by acoustic rock duo, the Tengri, will be beginning the festivities from 8pm on Friday 17th March. Come back on the Saturday for the Six Nations match against England at 5pm.
