Arsenal are looking to do the double over local rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday having won the reverse fixture at the Emirates 1-0 in September.
Arsenal approach the game six points ahead of Spurs, and as the graphics below show, are en course to finish above their fierce rivals for a 19th season in a row.
Only twice since the Premier League formed in 1992 have the Gunners finished below Spurs, and in those seasons Spurs took six and four points off their neighbours.
Arsenal’s dominance over their rivals extends beyond the league placings too; only once since 1996 have Spurs gained more points in the North London Derby, coming in the 2010-11 season where they won 3-2 at the Emirates, having trailed 2-0, and in a thrilling 3-3 draw at White Hart Lane.
But that season followed a familiar trend of recent years, with Spurs finishing one place behind the Gunners, as has happened in each of the last four seasons.
