Five women’s sports clubs to get stuck into in Islington

Whether you’re a Nike-sponsored athlete or more of a run-for-the-bus type, #ThisGirlCan and there are plenty of sporting opportunities for women in Islington.

Highbury Table Tennis Club offers drop-in sessions and coaching sessions as well as being home to a women’s team that competes in the Central London Table Tennis League. Best of all, the club offers reduced rates for female members!

Whittington Football Club, Holloway is starting a new ladies football club for all ages and abilities. No experience necessary, just a pair of trainers and a lot of enthusiasm.

Powerplay Netball Kings Cross plays at Somers Town Sports Centre on Tuesday evenings, and is part of a “social” netball league, aimed at those wishing to make friends and keep fit.

Try Tag Rugby is an organisation that runs women’s, men’s, and mixed tag rugby leagues. Islington’s fixtures are held in Paradise Park from April to November, so get signed up in time for the 2019 season!
