Season, a cook shop brand, is launching a culinary school in Islington this month following the opening of its Islington store in November.

Jason Moran, a chef at the store, said: “When we started selling our classes in Crouch End, we knew it was a key part of what we do. Our latest store opened just over three months ago, so when we opened a new store [running classes] was a no brainer really.”

The classes on offer in March include: ‘introduction to sauces’ which aims to teach punters how to make classic sauces like Bechamel and Hollandaise to restaurant standard, as well as a gluten and dairy-free class.

Moran said: “We purposefully have a very wide range of classes, so the three that have come up are just a small example of what will be a very wide range. That’s reflective of where we are. For me London is the best city in the world for food and the reason it’s the best city in the world for food is the diversity.”

“Our company is about as multicultural as it gets, we have staff from the UK, Italy, Hong Kong, China, Spain, Brazil, India and Bulgaria. In a company that’s only got 20 people that shows you just how multicultural we are.”

In the near future Islington is expected to teach classes on knife skills, Dim Sum and Spanish cuisine. Classes are £65 per person and 2.5 hours in length.
