Looking for the best Irish pubs in Islington? Islington Now has got you covered.

St Patrick’s Day would not be complete without a pint of Guinness in a good Irish pub. Islington, renowned for having one of the largest Irish communities in London, boasts some of the best pubs, clubs and restaurants to get stuck into pint of plain, watch traditional music and tuck into and some Irish roast beef.

Here are some of our favourites:

Homeboy

Homeboy is an Irish bar with two venues in London, one of which is on Essex Road. While it does serve Guinness (obviously) it is a cocktail bar with an impressive menu. The name Homeboy is inspired by old Irish civil laws that said Irish citizens must always welcome needy travellers into their home, offering drink and entertainment.

The Lamb

The Lamb is a lively Irish pub on Holloway Road which regularly has live traditional music. Head down this week for a Guinness or one of their guest ales.

 Greene King

Get a free pint of Guinness when you buy a carvery at Greene King pubs. Head down to Upper Street to get your fill at one of the best Irish pubs in Islington!

 Honest Burger

Just minutes away on Pentonville Road is Honest Burger, which from 1-28 March will be serving their Guinness Fondue. This is a burger topped with bacon, Guinness-flavoured fondue, Guinness-infused beef and bacon gravy.

 O2 Academy Islington

This Saturday the O2 Academy is holding a St Patrick’s Day special. Tickets are just £7.90 for five hours of Boyzone and Westlife!

 For the rugby fans

For those of you who will be tuning into the Ireland v Scotland game this Saturday (16:45), head down to one of these pubs to enjoy live coverage.

The Canonbury, The Duchess of Kent, The Castle, The Lounge at the John Salt or The Narrow Boat.

Calling all Patricks and Patricias!

O’Neill’s is giving away free points of Guinness to people named Patrick or Patricia, ending today! The closest O’Neill’s is near King’s Cross.
