We asked our social media community for their favourite places in Islington for a hot date.
Here are the top spots to spark a romance.
Swimmer at the Grafton Arms, 13 Eburne Road, N7 6AR
A nice pub in Holloway with a large front terrace, ready for the spring sun. People come here for the variety of good ales you can drink in a quiet atmosphere. There is a fireplace surrounded by gilt-framed mirrors and swimming paraphanalia stuck to the walls.
Chicks on Fire, 11 Hercules St, N7 6AT
If you are looking for something more peppy and colorful, Chicks On Fire is the right place. They better not be vegetarian though, as all their speciality is ‘international grilled chicken’.
The Crown, 116 Cloudesley Square, N1 0EB
Minutes from Upper Street, this is a peaceful place to pass a couple of hours. The Crown has a nice terrace and a traditional front in British racing green. Food and ales are served in a charming atmosphere. If you are looking for privacy there is a lounge-style area to the rear with sofas and armchairs clustered.
The Lamb Beer and Liquor is a new pub in the north side of Holloway Road. The minimalist style in fresh, mint green panelling is the perfect environment for one of their special craft beers. It is packed on the weekends so come on a weekday evening for tête-à-têtes. Live music with concerts and open mics will help your wooing.
If you are looking for something really individual, then look to Ottolenghi. The restaurant of the famous Israelian chef Yotam Ottolenghi is a point of foodie pilgrimage. In the evening, the white and bronze interior set the mood to share their elegant fusion dishes.
