Arsenal betters Premier League by capping away tickets at £26

Gunners fans are “delighted” that in addition to the Premier League cap on away ticket prices Arsenal will provide a further £4 subsidy to their supporters.

While the Premier League has confirmed the cap will come in at the start of the 2016/2017 season, Arsenal have announced their away tickets will be further subsidised at £26.

Speaking about the £30 cap, Paul Matz from Arsenal Independent Supporters’ Association said: “This is something Arsenal Independent Supporters Association have been campaigning for for some time and we’re really delighted with the changes.”

He added: “I’m delighted Arsenal are offering the further subsidy for our legion of away fans. Arsenal fans almost always pay more for away tickets each week so this will be a special benefit for us.

“Teams always have Arsenal as ‘Category A’ matches because of the size of our club meaning the tickets are always expensive, so we’re delighted with the changes.”

Arsenal’s Chief Executive, Ivan Gazidis said: “We have fantastic support home and away. We know that following the club is a commitment and are always seeking to strike the right balance in our pricing.

“These steps mean that we will have held general admission season ticket prices flat for nine of the 12 years since our move to Emirates Stadium by 2018, and are also designed to make things a little easier for our travelling fans who often face the highest prices when watching Arsenal play away.”

The club has also announced that it is freezing all general admission season ticket and match ticket prices for the next two seasons. This means general admission prices will be fixed for all games at Emirates Stadium until at least 2018/2019.
